The drill rig is a cable tool type of drilling machine. Sometime these rigs are called spudder rigs, or pounder rigs. Specifically, the Bucyrus Erie brand is a favorite of many drillers throughout the country and world due to it extremely light fuel consumption, ease of operation, durability, and cost. See video at bottom of page for more information. This model 22 drill rig is an older model drill rig which was remounted on this truck. The rig is powered by a independent Ford 172 cubic inch gasoline deck engine. The rig has auto folding support legs, three wire-rope lines (main drilling tool line, bailer/sand line, and a auxiliary/casing line). The package comes complete with some of the cable tooling needed to construct water wells. Included is a large 10-18″ diameter bit with drill stem, large diameter tool guide, casing drive clamp, and a 7″ diameter sand pump bailer.
